This privacy policy sets out how Drain It Ltd uses and protects any information that you give Drain It Ltd when you use this website, email or call our office.  Drain It Ltd is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.  Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, or emailing and calling our office, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.  Drain It Ltd may change this policy from time to time by updating this page.  You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes.  This policy is effective from 25th May 2018.

What we collect

We may collect the following information:        

  • name and job title      
  • contact information including email, home and mobile phone numbers  
  • demographic information such as address, postcode and physical location  
  • other information relevant to a property, person, job and/or projects that are undertaken  
  • account history (invoices, purchases, payments etc.)  

What we do with the information

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:  

  • Internal record keeping  
  • We may use the information to improve our products and services  
  • We may periodically send emails about updates to our products, pricing, or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided  
  • We also reserve the right to contact you by phone to alert you to any outstanding maintenance visits or overdue accounts

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect and hold.

We are Cyber Essentials certified! Cyber Essential Certification is a government backed scheme, in conjunction with the National Cyber Security Centre, giving you peace of mind that our defences will protect against the vast majority of cyber attacks simply because these attacks are looking for targets which do not have the Cyber Essentials technical controls in place.

Controlling you personal information

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties.  If we are required to share your information for the purposes of job completion or registration with a government body we will contact you for your express permission.     You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998 & General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018.  A small fee will be payable. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please write to Drain It Ltd, The Workshop, La Brainderie, La Route de St Jean, St Lawrence, Jersey, JE3 1ND.     If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

Data retention policy

Customer and Supplier data is retained indefinitely while the customer or supplier account is active to meet our legal requirements.  We reserve the right to delete inactive customer, supplier and out dated property data older than 5 years.

Your rights as a data subject

The GDPR introduces greater rights for data subjects.  These include:  

  • subject access right (SAR)  
  • right to have inaccuracies corrected  
  • right to have information erased  
  • right to prevent direct marketing  
  • right to prevent automated decision-marking and profiling  
  • right to data portability
